staying adaptable = superpower

Being adaptable is the ultimate superpower in today's ever-changing workplace. Gone are the days of "straight-line" careers, where sticking to a single path was the norm. Companies are now shifting at an unprecedented pace, and those who fail to keep up risk being left behind.

The good news is that keeping a constantly learning mindset can help you stay ahead of the curve. This could mean taking a class to sharpen your skills or spending time with colleagues in different departments. By prioritizing learning, you can become less scared of the unknown and more comfortable with change.

As someone who has had a "squiggly" career path, I know firsthand the benefits of adaptability. From managing an entire marketing department to learning how to make an impact in a community marketing role, being open to change has presented me with countless opportunities I would have never dreamed of.

Change can be scary, and I have certainly grieved the loss of roles in my career. But I also know that being flexible and eager to adapt has opened doors I never thought possible.

So, when has adaptability strengthened your career or life? And when could you have been more adaptable? Remember, a career no longer needs to go in a straight line - embrace the possibilities and keep an open mind.
