Lessons Learned one Year into my Business

It has been a little over a year since I started my journey working for myself.

I have been reflecting a lot over the past few months about the first year of entrepreneurship.

In many ways it exceeded my expectations.

In reality, I don't know if I set many expectations on what Year One would look like. I think I was just hoping I would survive it. (yay, I did!)

I learned a lot along the way and I will be making some big changes for Year Two, but I do not regret any of it. It is so worth it to go after your dreams. You may just surprise yourself.

Here are ten things I know for sure after one year:

1️⃣ Working with the right people makes all the difference

2️⃣ You can only plan so much

3️⃣ Work on a variety of projects

4️⃣ Your network will surprise you (in a good way)

5️⃣ Boundaries become even more important

6️⃣ Set your own work hours or someone will set them for you

7️⃣ Project-based work is very rewarding

8️⃣ There will always something that you dislike about your job

9️⃣ Don't sell yourself short

🔟 You can handle a lot more than you give yourself credit for

I am really excited to find out what Year Two will bring me.

It took me a moment to put into words what my aspirations are..because for the first time it feels like the possibilities are endless.

What should my goals be? It feels like an open road and I won't understand the full potential until I arrive.

Cheers to staying curious, working with great people on projects that matter and staying open to the possibilities of it all.

Is there anything else you would add from your own journey?
